Week beginning Monday, 27th April

In DT, we will start to design our own fruit smoothie drinks.  We will look at how smoothies are packaged and marketed. We will think of a name for our smoothies and design labels for them.

In RE, we will read the Story of Jonah and talk about God’s role within the story. 

In Computing, we will continue learning about Spreadsheets and this week we will learn how to add Clipart images to a spreadsheet. 

In English, the children will plan and write a detailed guidebook about how to care for a cloud. They will plan for and include in their writing an introduction, conclusion, subheadings, different sentence types, conjunctions and imperative verbs. At each stage, the children will edit and make improvements to their writing.  

In Maths, we will continue to learn about fractions. We will be learning how to find the whole, how to recognise unit and non-unit fractions and how 1/2 is equivalent to 2/4. When finding a fraction of a shape, children should see that 1/2 and 2/4 take up the same amount of space,  if the wholes are equal in size.
