Week beginning Monday, 20th April

In Maths, we will continue to learn about fractions. We will be learning how to recognise and find a quarter and a third. We will identify a quarter/third of a shape, a length and a set of objects and need to consider if they have been split into equal parts. 

For our Enquiry Theme we will be looking at how we can make a simple free-standing structure in DT and learn how the structure can be made stronger, stiffer and more stable. 

In Science, we will observe and describe seeds and bulbs and begin to describe how plants need water, light and a suitable temperature to grow and stay healthy.  

In Computing we will begin learning about spreadsheets and how to navigate a spreadsheet and enter data. 

In English, the children will learn how to use a range of sentence types to write a letter of advice to Lizzy to help her look after the cloud. The children will also learn to spell using the suffixes –ful and –less and apply this knowledge when writing postcard in role.
