Week beginning Monday, 22nd June

For Art Week we will be learning about the artist Yayoi Kusama.  We will learn about her different pieces of artwork, including her paintings, sculptures and installations.  We will create our own piece of artwork using Yayoi Kusama’s style as inspiration.  We will also continue learning about different art styles using the Purple Mash program 2Paint a Picture. 

During this week we will begin our new focus text ‘The Minipins’ by Roald Dahl and Patrick Benson. The children will explore the story by predicting story themes and outcomes by inferring. They will also create noun phrases to describe the characters.  

In Maths, we will be learning how to interpret pictograms where a key represents 2, 5 or 10.  We will then move onto learning about Mass and Capacity.
