Week beginning Monday, 27th April

In Literacy, we will listen to the story ‘The Enormous Turnip’ and talk about what the different characters are doing in the story. Using our phonics skills, we will label the different characters that are trying to pull the turnip.

We will look carefully at a range of turnips and plants and talk about what we can see.

During Muddy Explorers we will look for plants in our outdoor area and begin to correctly name some of the plants we find. We will learn how to use an iPad to take photographs of plants we find.  

During Maths, we are continuing to learn about numbers beyond 10 and will explore the counting patterns beyond 10. We will identify missing numbers in a sequence and count larger groups of cubes up to 20.  

In Phonics, we will learn to read and write words with the ending ed/t and longer ccvc such as ‘step’.
